Building Our Future

Regis St. Mary Foundation Capital Campaign

We did it! Thank you to the 270+ donors who have pledged and contributed funds since 2020 helping the 3 year Building Our Future Capital Campaign to meet its goals. We not only met the financial goal but exceeded it by raising more than $5,039,000! We are so excited to reach this milestone and move on to the next step.

Your donations have helped to complete projects on both campuses along with funding tuition assistance and the endowment. Some of the capital projects completed are:

● Bottle fill stations (St. Mary)
● Campus irrigation (Regis)
● Ceiling upgrades (St. Mary)
● Exterior siding and paint (Both campuses) Regis – Summer 2022
● Fiber upgrades (Both campuses)
● Fitness center, team room and restroom upgrades (Both campuses)
● Flooring (Both campuses)
● HVAC/Boiler improvements (Both campuses)
● Interior door upgrades (St. Mary) – Summer 2022
● Middle school roof (St. Mary)

Thank you for giving us this opportunity to provide a quality pre-K-through-12 Catholic education. Your support and generosity not only benefits our current students but future generations of students as well. Our continued collaboration is bearing great fruit and we are grateful for the opportunities the Capital Campaign has provided. We are deeply indebted to and humbled by the entire Regis St. Mary community for their unwavering and dedicated support of our schools.

Capital Campaign Goals

$1.5 Million for Tuition Assistance

Tuition assistance makes it possible for families with financial need to attend Regis St. Mary and receive an education unmatched by others.  Our goal is simple–no student shall be denied a Catholic education due to cost. While we are diligent about keeping our tuition as low as possible, two-thirds of our students receive tuition assistance.

$500,000 for the Foundation Endowment

The Foundation seeks to provide a stronger sustainable funding source for the school by increasing its endowment. Growing the endowment means that the Foundation will allow for more programming and special project needs. Increasing the endowment is essential to the future sustainability of Regis St. Mary. For every $1 million added to the permanent endowment, the Foundation can distribute at least an additional $40,000 per year to the school.

While cash gifts to endowment help immensely, the fastest way to build endowment is through estate planning and deferred gifts. Endowment building relies on gifts of all sizes: in recent years, the Foundation has received multiple seven-figure bequests as well as many smaller distributions from estates. To leave a lasting legacy to support Regis St. Mary students’ academic, social and spiritual growth, talk to your financial and legal advisors about updating your estate plans. The Legacy Society exists to recognize these valued contributors both living and posthumously.

Consider Making a Donation Today

We have a single source for funding our vision—your charitable support. Unlike public schools, we cannot count a special bond levy to support these vital needs.

Pledges payable over three years allow donors to consider more substantial commitments than are possible with one-time cash gifts. Donors who pledge may determine payment schedules to meet their own charitable or tax needs. See the table for recurring charges on various pledge amounts.

Consider making an online donation now by clicking the red donate button below.

For donations via trusts or wills, gifts of valuable real or personal property, life insurance or corporate matching gifts, please contact Executive Director Leslie Jepsen at 503-769-1705 or ljepsen@regisstmary.org.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Can I choose how my gift is used?

Yes, although most donors are likely to leave their gifts unrestricted, you may designate your gifts towards one of the general project areas. Unrestricted gifts are most important so we can provide immediate funding for our highest priority projects.

Q: Can I pledge over time?

Our campaign offers a wide range of gift opportunities to participate at all levels. Because our needs are urgent, we encourage you to complete your pledge within three years. Pledges payable over three years allow donors to consider more substantial commitments than are possible with one-time cash gifts.

Q: Is my pledge legally binding? Will it be confidential?

A pledge to support the Building our Future Capital Campaign is not legally binding. Our hope is that you make a commitment that you consider to be meaningful. All pledges will be kept confidential, with only the people responsible for maintaining campaign records having access to your pledge details.

Q: Who will be asked to support the Building Our Future?

Every constituent group–alumni, current parents, past parents, grandparents, faculty and staff, school leaders, foundations, and friends—will be asked to consider a gift to the campaign.

Q: Can trust and estate gifts be made to the campaign?

Yes. While our primary needs require immediate funding, if a donor offers a planned gift, we will accept all deferred gifts and apply them to the endowment-building portion of the campaign. Gifts from donor advised funds and private foundations are also welcome and will be applied to the capital projects.

Q: Are campaign gifts tax deductible?

As a qualified 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, campaign gifts to Regis St. Mary Foundation are tax deductible. Donors with specific questions regarding tax deductibility should contact their professional tax advisors.

Q: What are some benefits for making a gift?

While cash gifts are deductible for those who qualify, some popular gift options for donors are: •Gifts of highly appreciated securities (stock) may provide donors with additional tax savings by avoiding capital gains tax and qualifying for a charitable tax deduction. •An individual age 70 1/2 or older can transfer up to $100,000 from their IRA to the campaign and satisfy the required minimum annual distribution—without paying any taxes on the withdrawal.

For questions about the campaign or making a donation, contact Executive Director Leslie Jepsen at 503-769-1705 or ljepsen@regisstmary.org.
